Jardin Lankester

 

Lankester Gardens are a few miles outside of Cartago on the road to Turrialba. Surrounded by a 10-hectare forest, this botanical garden was created by the English botanist Lankester and is now maintained by the University of Costa Rica. The garden is a must for orchid lovers. Some of the more than 750 varieties flower in the greenhouse. There are also 40 types of bamboo and there is a cactus garden and a Japanese garden, there are also many types of heliconias, bromeliads and palms.
